Remote
Controlled Class 08's
"Remote
Controlled" Class 08 locomotives have been reallocated
back to south wales after a lapse of five years, between
when Allied Steel and Wire (ASW) closed and Celsa bought
out the company. There are currently two diagrams from a
pool of six locomotives at Cardiff Tidal Sidings which work
both Celsa and Tidal Sidings. Margam Depot are responsible
for maintaining the locomotives and two members of the Shunter
Gang located at Tidal Sidings provide focused support.
